| Hammamas is the brain child of a small group of
friends. We have known each other for over twenty years. The brand
has been born out of great friendships and shared experience. From
our combined pool of talents and skills, the businessman, the
designer, the marketeers and the PR’s, we have evolved the Hammamas
brand. The product itself though has had a very organic beginning.
Spending time holidaying together we have spent a lot of time in
the south of Turkey. Using the local bath towels as beach
towels, sarongs, post shower towels and wraps, the connection
with lovely cotton towels became a holiday infactuation with a
difference and lasted long after the tan had faded.
The hand loomed cotton towels soon took their pride of place
stacked high in the bathroom and were being used everyday. They
were wrapped and given as gifts to everyone. Everyone loved the
towels and everyone had a use for them.
We started working with the local people in Turkey to develop and
design a product that represents the vibrancy of modern life and
caters to the practicalities of everyday living.
From this beginning Hammamas was born. We launched the label in
London in the summer of 2008 and have launched in Australia and
New Zealand summer 2009/2010.
We've adopted Turkey as a second home. We love the landscape and
we love the people. We work closely with family co-operatives to
develop the Hammamas products and range. |
